The Carmelite Day Nursery is a not-for-profit Toronto childcare organization with a long history of excellence; established by the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus in 1920.

From the beginning, the Sisters aimed to provide a warm, Christian, home-like atmosphere in which the child is led to an awareness of the love that God has for each of us. Today Udo’s Little Prints Ltd. manages the day-to-day operations of the daycare on behalf of the Carmelite Sisters.

Since our founding, our Motto has been
“Each child is a gift entrusted to our care by God. Each is a unique individual with a potential to be realized, a character to be appreciated”
 - Mother Mary Teresa, founder of the Carmelite Children’s Home 1913.

The values and beliefs of the Carmelite Sisters are continually reflected within the community-based atmosphere and devotion to treating each child as a gift from God.

Our programming has always centred upon this primary goal to foster a sense of belonging. By working in partnership with the families within the daycare and outside its walls, we create a sense of belonging which encourages positive growth and development for everyone.

Our community-centric focus honours and respects all children’s beliefs, culture, language, and experiences acquired from their family and community. In practice, this approach is manifested through the many opportunities that we offer families, children, and staff to experience meaningful engagement. Families are an integral part of our program; we welcome and encourage their involvement in our program as much as possible. This attitude of “belonging” promotes overall health and well-being for families and individual children.

Our programming celebrates the joy and wonder of childhood. It is innovative, fun and meets or exceeds all guidelines. It is delivered by qualified, caring professionals who love what they do.

We would love to warmly welcome you into our family!
